She couldn't help letting out a small yelp of pain when that foot smashed into her wrist. And didn't even have time to properly think about what to do next when he was grabbing her hair, pulling her bodily to her feet.

It hurt, and her chest ached, and her scalp stung, but it wasn't nearly enough to cow her. Ritsuka knew her odds continued to dwindle, but that by itself meant nothing. How many impossible foes had she fought, how many utterly hopeless situations had she been it, yet still managed to come out of just by sheer refusal to give up? She was stubborn, and would cling to life as long as she still had it.

So rather than respond to his goading, as soon as her feet touched the ground, she mustered all the strength she had to try to pull away. It would probably mean leaving a large chunk of hair behind, but that would be a small price to pay if she managed to get out of here.
